Spirituality day at Wylye Valley C of E Primary School had a particularly festive feel to it this term with teachers and children reflecting on the meaning of Advent. Throughout the day, there were a whole host of activities including a yoga session. All the children were included in a special Christmas decoration making session where every pupil created a handmade decoration and, at the end of the day, four trees in the Nature Reserve were adorned with the decorations. They were beautifully set off by fairy lights which had been carefully put up by Mrs Beeden. Each pupil also coloured in their own ‘Breathing Star’ and practised controlled and studied breathing. Franklin Class created a kind-thought inspired Advent Calendar where each child wrote down kind and motivational thoughts anonymously and then decorated a numbered envelope into which the ‘thoughts and words’ were randomly secreted. Each day a child will be opening an envelope and will share the words with the class.

Spirituality Day - In October we held our third Spirituality Day. The theme for the day was Autumn and Diwali and the children got to take part in a yoga session.
On Shrove Tuesday our school talked about Lent with Jayne.
We held a ‘Spirituality Day’ to explore what spirituality means to us at Wylye Valley School. We spent the day connecting with ourselves, others, our surroundings and beyond through music, art and yoga.
