English
This week will focus on a range of texts and film clips around pets.
Watch and join in with the song I Have a Pet:
I Have A Pet | Animal Song | Super Simple Songs - YouTube
Repeat the song, this time pausing and saying what noise each pet makes.
Draw pictures of the pets (could use a video to copy drawings) e.g.

or

Year 1 additional work
Write sentences about the pets and the noise they make e.g. I have a bird and it goes tweet. I have a mouse and it goes squeak.
This could form a simple poem.
Once complete, encourage your child to perform it to an audience.
Encourage your child to use their phonic knowledge to spell the words correctly.
Extend to add other pets they know and what noise they make, e.g. I have a horse and it goes neigh.
